Dr. Thomas E. Helfst. was born and raised in West Islip, New York. He is a Board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who received my undergraduate degree in Biology from Hofstra University, New York and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from The State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1993. Dr. helfst did his residency at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. He established his practice, Stroud Oral and Facial Surgery in 2001, and has been in private practice since 1999.

Dr. Helfst has devoted his professional career to all aspects of Oral and Facial Surgery practice with special interests in the treatment of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Dental Implants and Anesthesia for patient comfort. To keep abreast of the latest developments in Oral and Facial Surgery, he exceeds the continuing education requirements of the state of Pennsylvania.

When he is not providing quality care, Dr. Helfst travels, plays tennis, skis and is an avid photographer.  He lives with his wife, (Marina who is also a Doctor of Dental Surgery in the field of prosthodontics) and two children- Montserrat and Margarita- in Stroudsburg, PA.

In addition to being a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the National Board of Anesthesiology, Dr.Helfst also belongs to the following professional organizations:
